Can I drive for another small passenger service provider as well?
Answer – Yes owner drivers can drive for other organisations as well as NZTVans Limited. Company drivers can only drive for another provider with the permission of NZTVans Limited.
What is the best way to maximise the income I can make driving a small passenger service Vehicle?
Answer -- The best way is to drive for more than 1 organisation for example;
-- 1 or more private hire providers such as Discount Taxis.
-- A hail Taxi organisation. Discount Taxis Drivers can also do Hail jobs if their vehicles are set up to do taxi hail work.
What hours can I work?
Answer --Owners Drivers can work hours to suit their life style or other working commitments.
How much can I earn?
Answer --The average Job to or from the Airport is $50+ After Airport fees and takes 25 to 35 minutes to complete, in high demand periods drivers can do up to 2 jobs per hour. Company drivers gross $1500.00 per week.
What are the busy times for Airport work?
Answer --The peak times for customers going to the airport is early morning and in the evening when commuter passengers return home. The Domestic terminal operates from 6am to 11pm with the International terminal operating 24 hours per day.
What are the Airport fees?
Answer --The Airport Charges drivers $5 per job from the Airport and $3 per Job to the Airport. These charges are added to every job drivers do and are commission free. Drivers set up an account with the Airport thru NZTVans Limited and deposit money via credit card to pay the Airport every time they Pick up or drop off passengers. Drivers also are required to go through a registration process with the airport which cost $87.00 per 6 months. Only drivers registered with the Airport can pick and drop off passengers from Airport property.
Where can I sit and wait for work?
Answer --If you want to do pick up work from the Airport, you must park close to the Airport. To do jobs to the Airport you can work from anywhere you choose, some drivers wait at home for jobs and some wait around the city for jobs, as 50% of all jobs to and from the airport go to the city and surrounding suburbs. Jobs going to the Airport are given to the closest Vehicle and jobs from the airport are given to the Vehicle who has been waiting the longest time at the Airport waiting area.
What equipment do I need to operate with Discount Taxis?
Answer --Drivers need an android system smart phone, you will required to wear (Smart Causal Dress).
What marketing does Discount Taxis do for its Minishuttle direct service?
Answer --NZTV Limited spends a 40% of the commission on marketing.
How do customers book a job?
Answer --All bookings are taken online, customers can use any form of device to book online. We also operate an operator dispatch system 5am to 6pm
What Training will I be given before I start Driving?
Answer --Drivers will be given full training on how to operate the dispatch app. And will be shown the Airport waiting area, the Airport terminals pick up and drop off areas. NZTVans also operates whatsapp programs were drivers can communicate with other drivers and/or NZTVans Limited to answer any ongoing quires they may have.
How do customers pay?
Answer --Customers can pay the driver cash or pay by eftpos transactions as all Discount Taxis vehicles are equipped with eftpos machines.
How do drivers get the reimbursed for fares paid by eftpos transaction?
Answer --Drivers are paid each Monday for fares paid by eftpos transaction for the preceding week (Monday to Sunday) by customers, Commissions are deducted from Company Drivers eftpos payments at this time for the preceding week. Any commission owed by Company Drivers for cash fares that cannot be covered by Company Drivers on eftpos payments will be invoiced on Tuesdays for the preceding week and must be paid within 48 hours.
